National Brain Tumor Awareness Month
May 1, 2013 - May 31, 2013
Approximately 180,000 brain tumors, both malignant and benign, are diagnosed in the United States each year, and the National Cancer Institute estimates 23,000 Americans were diagnosed with brain cancer in 2012. Symptoms of a brain tumor can vary depending on type, size, and location but may include headaches and nausea; hearing, vision, or speech difficulties; problems with balance; loss of sensation in the limbs; seizures; changes in personality; and general confusion.
